You will need to plan what times your discussion and lab sections will meet before registration opens.
New for Fall 2024, instructors have the option to have students directly enroll in discussion sections and labs with meeting times OR submit section time preferences during each registration period. You must still have section times decided ahead of registration, to allow students to either enroll directly or submit preferences.
Every course with multiple sections is expected to schedule sections with meeting patterns and capped enrollment. Setting your section days and times for your course through this process will likely mean that you will not have information about the scheduling preferences of your TF/TA support staff. Once TFs have been hired for your course, they will have to work around you and the needs of your course. Faculty must offer a single placeholder section in addition to the timed and capped sections, as allocated by Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE).
