Spring grading is open in my.harvard

— Review your grading deadlines.

You will receive a custom message today with your grading deadlines.
Learn about grading
Dear <<First Name>>,

The spring grading period is now open for FAS courses. Starting today we will send you a series of personalized reminders containing your specific courses, grade roster statuses, and deadlines. You can also review all spring 2022 grading deadlines on our website.

Important: Submit grades for graduating students before May 18.

The latest possible deadline to submit grades for May degree candidates is May 18, however many courses have earlier deadlines.

With graduation approaching, it is critically important that you post grades for graduating students on time. We cannot calculate honors or print diplomas with grades pending. For more information, see the instructions for early grading for graduating students.
Remember to use the Partial Post grading feature in my.harvard, which allows instructors with POST grading permission to enter and post grades for a subset of students on the grade roster.

Thank you for your work finalizing student grades and for your attention to deadlines, <<First Name>>. If you need help with grading, please contact the Registrar's Office at enrollment@fas.harvard.edu or talk with us during our Zoom office hours.

Sincerely,

Mike Burke
Registrar of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences
Harvard University

HELP CENTER

Help with grading

I have a student who hasn’t turned in final work, why don’t I see the PND grading option?

  • Given the new functionality of partial post, if you have an outstanding grade, leave the grade entry blank and submit partial post.
  • Once the Administrative Board approves an extension or makeup, we will update the blank entry with a notation of EXT or MKP. If the student will not be petitioning for an extension or makeup, please submit a grade for the work completed.

Why can't my TF enter grades for my course?

You must assign proxy graders each semester. If you can't add a teaching fellow as a proxy grader, please contact courses@fas.harvard.edu. For more information, please see FAS instructor roles and grading access.

I received a reminder about my grades being late, but I already entered them.

Submitting grades is a multi-step process. After you enter individual grades, you will need to:
  1. Change the Grade Roster Action from NOT REVIEWED or READY FOR REVIEW to:
    • APPROVED (if you are posting your full roster) or
    • PARTIALLY POST (if you are using partial post)

  2. Save. Once you set the action to APPROVED or PARTIALLY POST, the POST button will appear.

  3. Press POST to finalize your grades. Grades are not finalized until they are posted.
