Updated Harvard College Student Handbook

The Student Handbook has a new look – it's now more user-friendly and easier to navigate! With the approval of the faculty, staff have worked together to make sure the new version contains all of the information you need to thrive and succeed at Harvard College.

Classroom locations may change

Classroom location changes naturally take place during the enrollment period, so check your course meeting location in the my.harvard Course Search before the first day of classes and until the registration deadline passes.

Course preview period begins
Explore courses you are interested in, start submitting petitions, and enroll in courses through August 26. Check the College Calendar, department and course canvas websites for the latest information and events.

Course registration deadline
Submit course registration for minimum required course load – typically 16 credits (equivalent to four Harvard 4-credit courses).

Fee: If you miss the registration deadline, you will be charged $40 per week until you register.

First day of fall classes
September 1 is a Wednesday, but we will follow a Monday schedule.

Important: Please attend your Monday courses and be sure to check the course meeting locations in my.harvard.
