Tentative Fall 2021 Course Locations
Curriculum Coordinators: Aug. 6 is the last day you can edit the Course Catalog page in Admin. Scroll down to the courses section for details.
Dear <<First Name>>,

I am pleased to share tentative classroom assignments for fall 2021.  Assignments are subject to change and may change prior to faculty being notified or after the registration deadline due to changes in enrollment.  Course enrollments must closely match room size so we can accommodate the increased student population.
Review Classroom Assignments

Action items before instructors are emailed classroom assignments next week:

  • Click on the blue "Review Classroom Assignments" button above to view your department's tentative assignments.

  • Email Classrooms to secure a room for a course with a compliant meeting time that is missing a location or needs to be booked in your department-owned space.

  • Notify Classrooms, ATG, and Education Support Services (ESS) about courses needing recording technology to ensure they're scheduled in an appropriate space, as not all classrooms support this technology.

  • Review why a course location is TBD and resolve as appropriate:
    • The meeting time is non-compliant.
    • The course was created after the preferences deadline.
    • The time or meeting pattern changed since the preference deadline.
    • A department-owned space was entered and it's being used by another course in that department.
    • The course should be sharing space with another course.
    • A preference was not entered.

PREPARING CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY

Instructors should visit campus at least one week before they start teaching to set up, make sure everything is working, and plan a ‘dry run’ in their classroom. HUIT and ESS are here to help:
  • Return to campus guide, including equipment instructors should bring to campus and how to reconnect devices to the campus Wi-Fi network.

  • In-person classroom appointments to test AV and laptop connections in their designed classrooms prior to the start of classes.

AUG. 6: COURSES DEADLINE!

Tomorrow is the last day departments may edit the Course Catalog page in my.harvard! After tomorrow, departments may only edit:
  • Class times (compliant with FAS Schedule)
  • Instructor roles & grade access
  • "Have You Considered?" attribute
  • Class notes
