Submit Mid-Term Progress Reports

— Help struggling students get support before the Eleventh Monday deadline.

The Eleventh Monday deadline is Monday, April 1. It is the last day for students to withdraw from spring term courses and the last day to withdraw from year-long courses.

Only submit mid-term progress reports for students making unsatisfactory progress.

Submit a mid-term progress report if a student is struggling, in danger of failing, isn't showing up to class, or if you have other concerns that you want to bring to the resident dean’s attention.

Mid-term progress reports do not display on transcripts.

Your report will notify the student's resident dean, but it will not impact the student's transcript. It is important to submit a report if you think a student needs support.

HELP CENTER

What are mid-term progress reports?

If you know a student who is struggling in your course or who is in danger of failing, you should submit a mid-term progress report to help your student get support. Mid-term progress reports are submitted to your student's resident dean via my.harvard.

When should I submit a mid-term progress report?

Submit a report as soon as you are concerned about a student in your course, particularly when:
  • You are concerned about a student's academic progress.
  • You are concerned about a student's mental health or well-being.
Although you can submit a mid-term progress report at any point during the semester, it helps to be aware of key upcoming deadlines that Harvard College students must meet to make changes to their schedules:
  • Eleventh Monday (Monday, April 3): Last day upon which students may withdraw from a spring term course. Last day upon which students may withdraw from a year-long course.

If I submit a mid-term progress report for a student, who will be notified?

Resident dean: The student's resident dean will reach out to the student after receiving the notification in my.harvard.

Student: The student will not be notified when you submit a report, however, we recommend sharing academic concerns directly with your students
