Mid-term progress reports will not display on a student's transcript.
These reports will notify the student's Resident Dean in my.harvard, but they will not show up on your student's transcript. If you submit a mid-term progress report for a struggling student, the student will be less likely to fail your course.

Dear <<First Name>>,
Mid-term progress reports (sometimes known as UNSAT reports), submitted via my.harvard, are critical to student success. These reports will not display on a student's transcript, but will alert the student's Resident Dean so the student can get support.
Submit a report if a student is making unsatisfactory progress: Submit a report only if a student is struggling, in danger of failing, or if you have other concerns that you want to bring to the Resident Dean's attention.
Submit a report as soon as you are concerned about a student in your course, particularly when:
- You are concerned about a student's academic progress.
- You are concerned about a student's mental health or wellbeing
|
|
An example of a situation where you may want to submit a report is if a student isn’t showing up for class. You can submit a report as a way to alert the student's Resident Dean.

Thank you for your attention to this important task. Any report you submit is essential to helping students who are not making satisfactory progress. If you are concerned about a student's progress in your course, please submit a mid-term progress report.
Sincerely,
Erika McDonald
Registrar of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences

What happens when I submit a mid-term progress (UNSAT) report?
Students will not be notified directly if you submit a report. We recommend sharing academic concerns directly with your students.
The student's Resident Dean will receive the mid-term progress (UNSAT) report.
The student's Resident Dean will reach out to the student to check in on them and offer support.
Are there specific academic deadlines I should keep in mind when submitting reports?
Although you can submit a mid-term progress (UNSAT) report at any point during the semester, it helps to be aware of key deadlines that Harvard College students must meet to make changes to their schedules:
- Fifth Monday (October 3): Last day undergraduates may add or drop a course with a fee. No course may be changed from letter-graded to Pass/Fail or from Pass/Fail to letter-graded status for the fall term after this date.
- Eleventh Monday (November 14): Last day upon which students may withdraw from a fall term course; a notation of WD will be permanently recorded on the transcript.
