May Degree Application: Now 
Open

- Students can apply until April. 1, 11:59pm EDT
Dear GSAS Department Colleagues,

The May 2022 degree application is open, and students can apply between now and April 1 at 11:59pm EDT. Please reach out to your students to make sure those intending to graduate this Spring apply before the deadline.

You can review your May degree candidates' application statuses using the Students by Expected Grad Term query found on your GSAS Department Workcenter navigations tab.
  • Use 2222 as the term code for May 2022 degrees.
  • Students indicated as "Eligible to Graduate" in the Degree Checkout column have not yet applied.
Your degree candidates will not appear in GSAS Graduation Tracker until after the deadline. Please use the reports in your Workcenter to track their applications. Applied students will be added to GSAS Graduation Tracker within a week of the application deadline.

Will my student get confirmation of their degree and diploma information?


Yes, each degree candidate will receive an email in early April confirming their applied degrees, diploma name, and FERPA status.
 

How to Audit Your Master's in Passing Students


Our office added a few queries to help you track your master's in passing students. These queries have been added to your GSAS Department Workcenter. Please reach out if you have questions or would like additional or different information.

Students must create and apply (two steps) their master's in passing.  

Active PHDs with Master’s - candidates who have master’s in any status (whether already awarded or recently activated). It includes the graduation status (eligible or applied) for both the PhD and the master’s along with the expected graduation term for each.

Applied PhDs with Master’s - candidates who have applied for the current degree term and who also have master’s in any status. This can be used to ensure that your applied PhD candidates also apply for their master’s.  We reach out directly to that population.

Active Master’s in Passing - This query identifies active PhD candidates with active master’s in passing which have not been awarded. The degree checkout status for the master’s identifies if it has been applied or is still eligible to apply.

Students who do not apply by the deadline will have their expected graduation terms bumped to May 2023.
