Cross Registration

What is the cross registration deadline to add/drop?

For students who are cross-registering into courses from two different schools, the student must follow whichever school's deadline is earlier. For example: If Harvard's add/drop deadline is earlier than MIT's, you will need to follow Harvard's deadline.

I’m an MIT student. How do I get access to a course’s materials once I have cross-registered for it?

To get information about a course you have cross-registered for, you will need to contact the Registrar’s Office associated with the school. You may also want to review the course listings or reach out to the course faculty member directly.

What schedule are we following for the first day of classes?

Please follow a Monday schedule for the first day of classes on Wednesday, September 2. This schedule change will only impact courses on Wednesday, September 2. On Thursday, September 3 you can resume a normal schedule:

  • Wednesday, September 2: Attend your Monday courses
  • Thursday, September 3: Attend your Thursday courses
  • Friday, September 4: Attend your Friday courses
  • Monday, September 7: Labor Day; Classes will not...

When will my Leave of Absence be processed?

Harvard College leave of absences, readmissions, and other votes that have been approved or denied by the Administrative Board will be processed within 5-7 business days

Will SEM courses count toward requirements?

SEM courses will fulfill concentration, secondary field, and foreign language citation requirements as well as the expository writing and language requirements. Gen Ed courses taken SEM will not be counted against the limit of only one P/F Gen Ed. The number of satisfactory letter-graded credits required to graduate and to receive honors will be reduced by 16. Similarly, the number of satisfactory letter-graded credits required by the end of sophomore year will be reduced by 16.
