## The FAS Schedule Rules

The FAS Schedule enables proper pass time between classes, decompresses the FAS schedule, reduces student time conflicts, and increases student course choices. All classes in FAS (including labs, discussions, etc.) must start at designated start times and cannot take place during pass times.

### 1. Use pre-determined combinations for course meeting days

Help us keep course meetings consistent for students.

- Courses meeting **3 days a week** must do so on **M/W/F**.
- Courses meeting **2 days a week** must do so on **T/TH** or **M/W**, **M/F**, or **W/F**.

### **2.** Use pre-determined course times (depending on the length of the course)

**Important**: Course start and end times depend on the course's location.

###
1 to 1.25 hour courses

Must start at designated times and must meet for a minimum of **60 minutes** , e.g. 9-10 AM on Cambridge campus, 9:45-10:45 AM on Allston campus.

### 2 to 2.75 hour courses

Must start at designated times and must meet for a minimum of **2 hours**, e.g. 9-11 AM on Cambridge campus; 9:45-11:45 AM on Allston campus.

**FAS courses must start at designated start times and end times. The length and location of the course dictates permitted start times which are outlined in this table.**

**\*Course meets for exactly 2 hours.**
